1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Lionshead 17 1/2 inch by 6 3/4 inch Lynx silver aluminum trailer wheel with the 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this is an aluminum wheel, it's durable, lightweight, and rustproof. And this is the attractive Link Series wheel you can see, which is an eight-spoke design. Has a nice silver finish on it, and then they machined the edge of the spokes and also the lip to give it a nice shiny finish. It does use an automotive-grade clear coat finish on the front to help protect from scuffs and scratches.
As you can see, the valve stem right over here is included, it is installed. And the center cap is not included. If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately on our website. You do wanna make sure to get a center cap that'll have the same diameter as this pilot hole here, 'cause when you install that center cap, it would go through this hole. The diameter on this pilot hole is 4.75 inches.
This wheel does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications, and the SAE J1204 standards. Few dimensions on this, we're gonna measure the diameter, which is always measured inside to inside, and then we're also gonna measure the width. So first, with the diameter, you can see if we go inside to inside, there's your 17 1/2 inch diameter. The width, which will be measured inside to inside or bead seat to bead seat, and there you can see is gonna be right at 6 3/4 inches. Now, the bolt pattern on this wheel is an 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern.
And if you wanna measure that bolt pattern, the way to do it on a wheel that's an even number of lugs, it's pretty easy, because the lug holes are directly across from each other. So to measure the bolt pattern, all you have to do is pick any hole, let's say this one. Measure from the center of this hole directly across to the center of the hole across from it. And on this wheel, it would measure 6 1/2 inches. So that's telling you this is an 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern.
This will use a wheel lug size of 5/8 inch by 18. And the weight capacity on this wheel is 6,050 pounds. But that should do it for a look at the Lionshead 17 1/2 inch by 6 3/4 inch Lynx silver aluminum trailer wheel with the 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern.

I just ordered new Kenda Karrier Load Star tires and had them mounted on these Lionshead wheels. I also purchased chrome wheel lug nuts, and the chrome hub covers. The final combo looks pretty good. The only thing I have to pick up are a couple of sets of McGard Locking Lug nuts. I'll have to purchase those from a different vendor, because etrailer doesn't sell McGard products, but thats ok. Can't wait to hit the road with the trailer. The trailer has taken on a new appearance, And the new E rated tires should perform really well.

The wheels look good and feel heavy duty, I would have liked to see steel sleeves in the lug nut holes. We are planning on a 3000 mile trip. We will see how they work out.

Hey Kevin. I double checked what we carry and you're right, we don't list that size. I checked with Lionshead and they are telling me that the correct center cap for this wheel is part # LHCS109-SI60C. I know it doesn't list it as a fit for the 4.75 but based off what Lionhead is saying, it should still fit.
